Our StoryIt all started when Dr. Amparo Espinosa Rugarcía, founder of the company, and Maria Teresa Freitas, head of production, combined exotic seasonings and ingredients over and over again, until they obtained the delicious masas that distinguish Tamalli's tamales today. The challenge was that each tamali should retain it's indigenous flavor while becoming, at the same time, attractive to modenr consumers. Also they should be able to successfuly compete against the huge national and international food offer. Quality and flavor of our "tamallis" anchored in our consumer's taste. The project had to grow and become a gourmet tamal, 100% Mexican and full of folklore, myths and legends, made with the most modern manufacturing and conservation techniques. Thus, we came out with a light product that distinguishes itself from others by its cylindrical and elongated shape, taken from the tamales from Chiapas, and the little colored laces, which are tied to the edges and indicate each tamali's flavor.
1994 was a key year for Tamalli. That's when the growth began and we opened out first store and production plant. Since then, we've had a sustained growth, opening more stores and being present in several food festivals. To face the challenges ahead, we have adopted new structures and have reorganized some key areas, optimizing resources and improving administrative procedures to achieve higher productivity and increased sales.
